John Morgan
Percussion Instructor / Media Specialist
John Morgan is currently the Percussion Instructor of East Mississippi Community College Mighty Lion Band and has served this position since 2010. At EMCC, he instructs percussion section, teaches private lessons, co-directs the Pep Band, and serves as the media specialist for the music program. As a member of the band faculty, Mr. Morgan has been part of a team that has helped lead the band program to unprecedented growth, making it currently one of the fastest growing programs in the Mississippi. Mr. Morgan also currently serves as adjunct percussion instructor for the Pride of Enterprise Band of Enterprise, MS.

A native of Mississippi native, Mr. Morgan is a 2005 graduate of Meridian High School and holds a Bachelor's of Music from Mississippi State University. During his undergraduate study, Mr. Morgan has served as a consultant in music and audio/visual production for various school districts, including: Starkville, Columbus, Aberdeen, Kosciusko, and Louisville. After completing his undergraduate studies,
Mr. Morgan decided to expound on his minor by pursuing a Master's degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in media relations. In 2012, Mr. Morgan to a 6-month break from EMCC to become a student of the University of Southern Mississippi, completing his coursework within the span of one year. In the fall of this previous year, Mr. Morgan returned to EMCC, completed his final classes and is currently awaiting graduation in 2013.

Mr. Morgan and his wife, Angelica Fields-Morgan, reside in Hattiesburg, MS.
